? The Northwest Chapter of the Advisory Council on Democratic and peaceful Unification (ACDPU) is hosting a symposium entitled "Past Present and Future of the Korean Peninsula." The symposium will focus on the history and current situation between North and South Korea along with issues geared toward future unification. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and is free to the public. It will be located at Highline Community College located at 2400 S. 240th Street in Des Moines, WA. ? China Club will host a dinner meeting featuring Dr. Jan Walls of Simon Fraser, to discuss the history and role of Shulaibao, along with a performance of this lively, humorous folk performance art. ? The De La Salle University Chorale will again visit the Seattle area. The public is invited to celebrate The Olympia Chinese Historical Marker Dedication from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Heritage Fountain park in Downtown Olympia at the 300 block of 5th Avenue SW, near Water Street. Gov. Gary Locke will be among the many guests. A walking tour of Olympia's historic district will follow the ceremony. ? The Greater Seattle Japanese Community Queen Committee will hold its 45th annual scholarship pageant at 7:00 p.m. at the Meydenbauer Theatre in Bellevue. This year's contestants are: Tamit Gina Nakamura, Alison mayu Shkurhan, Mari Masako Sugiyama and Emi Fumiyo Nomura-Sumida. The chosen Queen and her court will represent the Greater Seattle Japanese Community at community events, participate in the Seafair Scholarship Program for Women, and serve as representative to Seattle's sister city Kobe, Japan, among other duties. ? This year marks the 25th anniversary of the ending of Cambodia's genocide. To commemorate the event, three artists are on tour with "The Spirit of Cambodia: filmmaker Tiara Delgado, author Bhavia Wagner and rap musician praCh ." They have documented the Khmer Rouge genociate with efforts to rebuild broken lives, and will be at the University of Washington School of Social Work located at 4101 15th Ave. NE, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
