Cambodians In Long Beach (Listen)
The City of Long Beach has the largest Cambodian population in America. Cambodians came to Long Beach as refugees from the Killing Fields, the holocaust perpetrated by the Khmer Rouge. Their small businesses line Anaheim Street, an area that the Cambodians of Long Beach would like to designate ?ÞÏCambodia Town.?Þð Joining Host Larry Mantle is James Dok, Pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in both Long Beach and Redondo Beach. Mr. Dok is also the Executive Director of the United Cambodian Community, a multi-cultural, non-profit organization serving the Cambodian community living in Long Beach, and Prach Ly, a 24-year old Cambodian musician and music producer. They discuss the Cambodian refugee experience, as well as assimilation and growing up Cambodian in Long Beach.

History Of Long Beach (Listen)

The Origins Of The Recall (Listen)
Tom Fudge, host of ?ÞÏThese Days?Þð on KPBS starts off this two-hour collaboration broadcast talking about the origins of the movement to recall Gray Davis from office. Joining Tom is Daryl Issa, Republican congressman who funded the campaign to put the recall on the October 7th ballot. He was also a candidate for Governor but dropped out early on in the race.

California Democrats And The Recall (Listen)

Arnold Schwarzenegger (Listen)
Gubernatorial candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger is the front-runner in the recall election and seemed destined to unseat Gray Davis if the Governor is recalled. On Thursday, several women reportedly accused him of sexual impropriety and though he has publicly apologized for his behavior, Schwarzenegger?Þªs future as the successor to Davis may be in question. Larry and Alfred Balitzer, Professor of Government at Claremont McKenna College, and senior research fellow at Claremont Graduate University, and Michael Alvarez, Professor of Political Science at Caltech talk about Arnold, candidate and for Governor.
